Brent Turnipseed, MD
Brent Turnipseed, MD is a board-certified psychiatrist. As a native Austinite, he offers friendly, compassionate health care for Central Texans. Dr. Turnipseed has written and contributed to articles for highly regarded psychiatric publications and is respected by his peers in the mental health community.
Dr.Turnipseed offers his patients evidence-based psychiatric care in a comfortable environment. He is experienced in determining whether medication, psychotherapy, or both, are the appropriate treatment for each patient. Dr. Turnipseed is formally trained in Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) and can offer this and other unique customized ketamine treatment options to his patients. He is proactive in maintaining the rights and dignity of his patients.
Dr. Turnipseed treats common psychiatric problems that affect many adults. These problems include: anxiety, panic attacks, depression, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and psychosis.

Lauren Brooks, PA-C
Lauren is a Physician Assistant certified by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Ecology/Evolutionary Biology at the University of Colorado Boulder. She earned a Master o Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
Lauren is a compassionate and attentive provider who believes in improving mental healthcare one patient at a time. In her free time, she enjoys playing with her dogs, trivia, hiking and traveling.
Jennifer Dawson, PA-C
Jennifer Dawson, PA-C is a Physician Assistant certified by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology with a Biomedical Emphasis at The University of Northern Iowa and then earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Des Moines University Osteopathic Medical Center. Jennifer completed her medical training in Des Moines, IA in 2006 and moved to Texas in 2012.
Jennifer is a friendly, honest and thorough provider who will go above and beyond to provide the best care possible for her patients. She is excited to work in Psychiatry alongside Dr. Turnipseed to provide quality care to patients in the Austin area. Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys volunteering for various animal rescues, trying new restaurants, listening to live music and traveling.
Jiz Alphons Jordan, PA-C
Jiz Jordan, PA-C is a Physician Assistant certified by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Physiology and Sports Management with a concentration in Physiology and Enterprise and a minor in Psychology at Southern Methodist University. She earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Texas Medical Branch.
Jiz values both physical and mental health to improve quality of life. She is an enthusiastic and empathetic provider who will listen carefully to you to provide appropriate care. Jiz enjoys working out, dancing, and outdoor activities such as hiking and kayaking on her time off.
Rajani Pathak, PA-C
Rajani is a Physician Assistant certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology for the University of Texas at Arlington. She holds a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Louisiana State University Health Science Center in Shreveport.
Rajani is compassionate and believes mental health is an important aspect of healthy living. In her free time, she enjoys dancing, walking and hiking.
Kristin Serrano, PA-C
Kristin is a physician assistant certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. In addition, she is licensed by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners. Kristin holds a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies from Keiser University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Florida State University.
Kristin is fluent in English and Spanish. She is compassionate and enjoys helping patients achieve the best medical treatments possible. On her off time she enjoys hiking, trivia, and traveling.
Tracy Carver, PhD
Dr. Tracy Carver is an award winning Licensed Psychologist in the State of Texas. She was voted the Best Mental Health Professional in Austin two years in a row by readers of Austin Fit Magazine. She studied at the University of Texas at Austin, earning a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology and an M.A. in Educational Psychology. She trained at Harvard University, completing an internship in Clinical Psychology through Harvard Medical School. She is also a 200 hour certified yoga teacher.
Tracy provides counseling services for issues related to self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and addiction. With a flexible and collaborative style, she helps her clients find solutions to their problems and achieve lasting, positive change. Her approach is based on the belief that with increased awareness comes a more profound sense of control and an ability to act with intention. She believes therapy is one of the best ways to cultivate a more peaceful mind, shift the language we use to describe ourselves, and overcome the mental roadblocks that may be keeping us stuck in self-defeating patterns.
Carol Gilson, LCSW
Carol Gilson, LCSW is dedicated to helping her clients live their best life. She has extensive knowledge
and passion working with non-ordinary states of consciousness. Carol has worked in private practice, as
well as inpatient in the psychiatric intensive care, and in intensive outpatient settings where she has
provided both individual and group therapy. She currently provides Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy
(KAP) as well as training and support to other KAP therapists.
Carol uses a non-directive approach when working with clients, where she draws on her extensive
training in mindfulness, meditation, and altered states practices. She is trained to offer KAP, as well as
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma Informed Care. Carol believes in
the innate healing capacity of each individual and helps clients to regain confidence in their inner
Treatment areas include Mood Disorders, Anxiety, Depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and
Personality Disorders. As her focus is KAP, Carol does not take clients for long term individual therapy.
Mary Claire Sayers, LMSW
Mary Claire is a Licensed Master Social Worker practicing under the supervision of Andrea Turnipseed, LCSW. Mary Claire graduated from U.T. Austin with a Bachelor of Social Work degree and went on to receive her Master of Social Work from Texas State University. She is a native Austinite with extensive knowledge of mental health resources in Austin as well as our unique local culture. Mary Claire’s diverse experience before entering private practice involved working with clients of all ages and included time with Child Protective Services, Gardner Betts Juvenile Detention Center, Austin Lakes Hospital, as well as experience in conducting assessments and counseling individuals and groups at Travis County Jail and Travis County Correctional Complex.
Mary Claire often utilizes a Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) approach but believes each individual has their own unique needs and pathways to realizing their full potential in therapy, and beyond. Practice areas include Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety/mood disorders and substance use disorders as well as relationship struggles, loss/grief and general life transitions. Elissa Shaw, LCSW
Elissa Shaw, M.Ed., LCSW has training and experience in adult and adolescent mental health. She has worked as an individual and group therapist in residential, outpatient, and community mental health centers for over ten years. Elissa works with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues providing services that span therapy for depression, anxiety, dual diagnosis, family support, and beyond. She has particular interest in issues affecting the lives of women and girls, and issues facing young adults as they transition to independence.
Elissa is an integrative holistic therapist whose goal is to create a safe relationship to help you uncover your true potential and understand the negative stories that create barriers for you. She takes an active approach to therapy and draws upon her training in cognitive behavioral (CBT), family systems, relational, and psychodynamic therapy models to facilitate insight into thoughts, emotions, behaviors and relationship patterns. Lindsey Slater, LPC
Lindsey is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She has been trained in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) and focuses primarily on treating PTSD, co-occurring, and mood disorders. She first became licensed in psychotherapy in 2004 and has since worked with individual's, couples, and families in the arena of private practice, community based treatment, detox, and residential treatment. She recently completed a certificate program at the California Institute of Integral Studies in Psychedelic Assisted Therapy and Research and is passionate about the emerging new therapies in this arena, including ketamine assisted psychotherapy. Lindsey is also a 200 hour KRI certified Kundalini Yoga instructor, which gives a holistic (mind-body connection) flavor to her work. Clients seeking ketamine assisted psychotherapy will be scheduled with her after an initial medical evaluation.
Andrea Turnipseed, LCSW
Andrea Turnipseed, LCSW has training and background in adult mental health. She has worked with clients in acute inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings, facilitating both group and individual therapy. She has a particular interest in working with individuals who experience mood disorders such as anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder. She also helps clients through various life challenges such as grief and loss, relationship issues, parenting, and school and career stress.
Andrea assesses each individual to guide the direction of therapy. Andrea has been formally trained in Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) and she also utilizes techniques from psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral (CBT), acceptance & commitment (ACT), solution-focused, and strengths-based therapy models to help identify the resources within the client to move past negative thoughts and behaviors. Andrea provides a non-judgmental space for clients to share events and difficulties. She asks questions and makes observations to help elicit positive change and growth.

Dave Wofford, LPC
Dave Wofford is an Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a background in education and meditation. He has worked with adults and adolescents in community agencies as well as private practice. He incorporates CBT, somatic awareness, and neurodharma to support clients working through depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and trauma. He also provides Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy in partnership with the medical team. He is currently private pay only, and can provide detailed superbills to assist in filing for reimbursement. Clients will be scheduled with Dave for KAP therapy as needed by the medical providers.
